Here you will find activities and strategies that you and your children can use or complete at home:
A fantastic site! Be sure to check this one out. It’s a department of education site with links to sites they recommend.
This chart is used in our classrooms to remind the students about the strategies that good writer’s use…
Here is an activity to assist your child to practice the correct formation for uppercase and lowercase letters:
www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks1bitesize/literacy/ – A range of fun writing activities. There is also links to maths activities on the left.
http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/interactive/Literacy/index.htm – Another great site with interactive stories and a whole bunch of learning activities sorted into the following categories:
1) Words and Spelling
Rice Writing – Fill a container, baking tray or something flat with rice. You can now write your letters in the rice and it does not matter if you make a mistake as you can just smooth it over. A great hands on learning activity.
—If you know of a site that you think others may like to visit, please pop it into your child’s diary and you will see it added to this list by the end of the day. Your help in finding great sites would be greatly appreciated—
